In spite of the howls of protest of a world gone mad and the 'woke' movement likely to destroy the show and the planet, the viewing figures for Jodie Whittaker's first trip in the TARDIS went well above everyone's expectations. In fact this episode that greeted the first ever female Doctor produced the best viewing figures the show had garnered for years.

The viewing figure for the following week's episode is also worth taking note, with over 9 million people still watching. This compares favourably to the previous entry on the list which had a far more significant drop off. That's where the positive comparisons stop though, as the ratings continue to slide for Whittaker's reign at an alarming rate.

The episode is definitely one of the better ones from the Chibnall/Whittaker era, with an interesting and fearsome villain that was a worthy adversary for the new Doctor without being too big a task first up. The episode was unnecessarily dark at times, but the overall consensus was that Whittaker worked as the Doctor and the companions actually seemed okay at this point.
