Dr Who End Of Time
BBC

This episode signalled the beginning of the end for David Tennant's reign as the Doctor, and after the brilliance of The Water of Mars episode, it was no surprise to see the episode rate its socks off. Being viewed on Christmas Day was definitely a boost, but the significance of the moment wasn't lost on Whovians who knew they were losing something special.

The episode heralds the return of Jack Simm's The Master, and with the "he will knock four times" revelation prevalent in all the advertising, the hype was very intense. Hints of a return of fellow Timelords from Gallifrey only heightened the build up.

The actual episode was just okay, a rare case of a Who episode containing too few ideas for its hour runtime. When the episode resorts to the Doctor chasing after the Master in a scrapyard you know they're running out of ideas. The climax though is excellent, The Master's plan of taking over every human body insanely awful, while the words of the returning Timelords let us know that everything is not as it seems.

With all the suave and sophistication of any Aussie half way through a slab, Luke will critique every minute detail of films and shows from all eras- unless it's 1990's Simpsons episodes, because they're just perfect
