8. Ink Master (Spike)
Presented by Dave Navarro of Janes Addiction fame its a competition to find the USs best tattoo artist. There is two challenges a week, the Flash challenge which is usually based on traditional art like painting instruments and cutting hair rather than the act of tattooing a main elimination challenge. The main challenge is tattooing some poor soul who was promised the best in the country; its usually themed per weeks (Old school, portrait, photorealism, etc). You get a little lesson in the styles of tattooing and its a great place to pick up inspiration and ideas for your own tattoos. They later stand before judges and show their work before someone is eliminated. There is the usual collection of victims and abusers who spend the whole time telling the judges how wrong they are but often it is the customers they tattoo that have the more fiery attitudes. The judges are Navarro, Miami Inks Chris Nunez and Kat Von Ds ex husband Oliver Peck as well as guest judges from the world of sport, music and tattooing. Oxygen also have a disturbingly similar show called Best Ink presented by the corpse of Pete Wentz with a LA Inks Hannah Aitchson as a judge.
