One of the most defining facets of Olivers journey is that his decisions have consequences. After taking Sara on a secret sex cruise to China, both went through years of hellish trauma. After choosing to save Malcolm Merlyn, he cursed himself with the Dark Archer. After mishandling the freshly Mirakuru-ed Slade on Lian Yu, Oliver created a nemesis that would wreak havoc on Starling City, in turn transforming Carrie Cutter into Cupid and Ray Palmer into the ATOM. Oliver doesnt always learn from his lapses in judgment quite as thoroughly as viewers might hope, but he does always have to deal with the repercussions. Meanwhile, over on The Flash, Barry has successfully traveled back in time to rescue Central City from being consumed by a tsunami and prevent the death of his good friend Cisco. He may even go back further in time to try to stop his mothers murder. Granted, such a drastic measure would undoubtedly backfire on poor Barry, but he has the option. And that option so very much needs to stay on The Flash. Having the time travel reset button as a crutch already has the potential to cripple Barrys show in the long run; allowing it to become canon on Arrow both deprives Oliver of a position of power on his show and lowers the stakes irrevocably. People actually die on Arrow, and the recently introduced Lazarus Pit will be trouble enough without time travel in the mix.
Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
