10 Reasons Why The Walking Dead Is Currently Better Than Ever

7. Daring Deaths

Like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead has had no issue when it comes to killing off characters. From Merle, T-Dog, The Governor, Tyreese, Bob, Sasha, Carl, Abraham, Glenn and oh so many more, fans have seen an awful lot of their favourite characters bite the dust.

All told, death is a trademark of the show - an unavoidable consequence of a zombie-infested world where no one is really prepared for the horrors they'll have to face.

But after eight seasons, the show was constantly looking for new and shocking ways to kill people off. After so long, it was walking a fine line between treading on old ground and losing its shcok value when a character's fate came knocking.

Season Nine rose to this challenge, killing key characters not just in brutal and fresh ways, but also in large quantities. The now infamous pike scene saw the demise of figures like Tara, Enid and Henry, and by Season Ten Siddiq, Dante, Mary and Alpha had joined them. Not one of these deaths was without meaning, and not one felt forced or stale.

It's a tough job to pull off, but The Walking Dead remains ready to take it on with wonderful results.
