10 Reasons You Must Watch Avatar: The Last Airbender

7. It Has The Best Character Development

If there is something even better than the strong cast of characters themselves, it has to be their stories.

Sticking with the same core cast over every season means each has a chance to grow in a way we rarely get to see in any western cartoons, or even in anime (which heavily influences Avatar: The Last Airbender). This, combined with the mature themes that run through the show creates some of the most character development and arcs you will see.

Prince Zuko starts the story on a single-minded hunt to capture the Avatar, in the hope that he will restore his tarnished honour in his father's eyes.

Over the course of three seasons, Zuko transforms from a singularly-layered character bent on revenge and the villain of the show, to a multi-dimensional young man with new relationships - not to mention a handsome new haircut!

He gains a greater idea of his own destiny and morality, and on the other side of history, helps the Avatar defeat the father he so desperately sought affirmation from. Imagine this level of story-telling several times over, and you get an idea of how rich this show can be.
