10 Reasons You Should Watch Castlevania Season 4

4. The Animation

Powerhouse Animation really set a precedent for how well Western Animation can handle intense, heart-stopping 2D animation that a lot of action and fantasy anime is so known for. Setting the bar for not only other studios, but also raising it for themselves with every season, Powerhouse Animation keeps outdoing itself with its impressive animated feats, most prominently in Castlevania's explosive finale.

With a seamless mix of 2D and CG, the animation in some of the greatest action scenes ever seen in Western animation is vibrant, fluid, and kinetic, with camera movement and character animation really sells the scale and stakes of each scene. Some standout animated moments include a major fight scene between two characters mid-season, and the legendary final fight during the climax.

Outside of the fantastic action scenes, however, the quieter moments work remarkably well, with the animation conveying emotion and character acting perfectly without a single "real person's" face or body onscreen.

The animation for Castlevania, especially the final season, cannot be lauded enough, and one can talk about it for hours - but seeing it in action is a whole other animal, and the only way it can really be appreciated.
