10 Secret Subplots You Learn From Watching Community Deleted Scenes
6. The Truth Behind Magnitude
In the hilarious season three episode "Documentary Filmmaking: Redux," the Dean is given $2,000 to shoot a new commercial for Greendale, causing him to become a diva filmmaker overnight.
He memorably spends 12 hours shooting a scene of Troy and Britta (Gillian Jacobs) hugging, which becomes increasingly elaborate in the episode's deleted scenes, culminating in Troy being replaced with Magnitude (Luke Youngblood).
After Magnitude performs a few takes of his famous catchphrase, "Pop pop!," we cut to Abed's making-of documentary of the commercial, where Magnitude solemnly explains that he's actually secretly miserable despite being one of the most popular students on campus.

Another pivotal moment for Magnitude's character was also cut, though never shot, from Donald Glover's final episode, season five's "Geothermal Escapism."
Magnitude was originally supposed to get hit in the head and suddenly remember his real name, but before he can speak it aloud, he's hit in the head again and forgets it.
