10 Shocking Deaths That Changed The Walking Dead

5. Pete

The Death: Drunk and enraged, Pete stumbled into a meeting with Michonne€™s katana, threatening to kill Rick but instead mortally wounded Reg. Watching her husband die in her arms, Deanna ordered the subdued Pete€™s execution, which Rick obliged without hesitation. How It Changed Things: Ever since Rick reached Alexandria, there€™s been a tenuous relationship between what he saw as necessary and what they deemed was too far. While Reg€™s death served a wake-up call for how things are in the world now, Pete€™s immediate execution that followed set the standard for how things were going to be. Rick€™s way of thinking had been simmering in the minds of the Alexandrian denizens but it was now hard to deny that what he was doing was necessary. Right or not, the Ricktatorship had returned. This set a new standard for justice in the community and illuminated what kind of a leader Deanna was going to be. Not to be forgotten amidst this final moment of the season was the important development that Alexandria had just lost its doctor. We€™ve now seen Denise attempt to this fill this void in recent episodes but it€™s clear that Pete€™s death impacted everyone in more ways than one.
