That 70s Show
FX

That '70s Show was a massive hit for Fox. It aired 200 episodes over eight seasons and was an incredible launch pad for many of its actors. Naturally, Fox wanted to capitalize on its success with another series.

That '80s Show was a spiritual successor to That '70s Show. It wasn't set in the same world and didn't have any of the same characters, though it utilized a similar structure and had many of the same writers. That '80s Show did not achieve the success of That '70s Show was and was cancelled after 13 episodes.

It's worth noting that the lead of this series was Glenn Howerton, the man who would go on to co-star in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as Dennis Reynolds. Actress Brittany Daniel also starred on That '80s Show, appeared in one episode of That '70s Show and has a recurring character on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It really is a small world.
