10 Characters From The Simpsons Who Were Total Rip-Offs

5. ¡Bumblebee Hombre se basa en El Chapulín Colorado!

If you are were a fan of Mexican sitcoms in the mid-70s to early-80s, chances are you are familiar with a character called El Chapulín Colorado aka The Crimson Grasshopper. Even today you might see the character flipping through cable channels, as the show is still rerun on Spanish-language TV channels. El Chapulín Colorado- played by Mexican television comedian Roberto Gómez Bolaños- is known for always being "on," never dropping the character, or the slapstick comedy built in. Likewise, Bumblebee Man is always "on," even when sitting in for Kent Brockman at the evening news desk. ("A powerful tidal wave in Kuala Lumpur has killed one hundred and twenty people. Ay chihuahua! (Falling out of chair.) Whoa, whoa, whoa!") https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iM-Pg2vBPA Like Bumblebee Man's show on Springfield's Channel Ocho, The Crimson Grasshopper relied heavily on cartoony slapstick, short skits, and loud Spanish yelling. The Grasshopper also included superhero elements, often in a parody form. The introduction for El Chapulín Colorado- translated into English- is: "More agile than a turtle, stronger than a mouse, nobler than a lettuce, his coat of arms is a heart... It's the Crimson Grasshopper!"

The 'House is a father of two and husband of one in Minnesota. He is an improv comedian, and in his spare time follows WWE, MLB, The Simpsons, and Bob's Burgers. Growing up he was a huge fan of He-Man, and refuses to believe that it was in fact terrible.
