10 Star Trek Episodes They Should Have Made (It's Never Too Late)

7. Lost In Time

If being stuck in a time loop was a bizarre day at the office for the Enterprise crew in Cause and Effect, imagine what it must have been like for Captain Bateson and his crew on the USS Bozeman.

One minute, they're minding their own business; the next, they're pulled 90 years into the future. To put that into perspective, that would be like someone from the 1930s walking into our time and coming face to face with TikTok and AI.

What have we done?

Which raises the question: after the initial existential crisis, what came next for Bateson and his crew? Thanks to a couple of on-screen nods, we get the impression that the Bozeman and its crew may have still been out there, serving the Federation. And we love that Bateson played a small but crucial part in the Lower Decks episode Grounded.

But...how? How did the crew of the Bozeman go from temporal refugees to actively serving again? A Bozeman adventure or two set in The Next Generation era would have made for a compelling drama, charting the captain coming to terms with a new world.

Did he initially feel obsolete like the misplaced Scotty? Or was he filled with a sense of determination? Did all of his crew stay with the Bozeman, or did some retire after the culture shock? In which case, were contemporary officers assigned to help acclimatise any original crew members still left? And was there any debate at all about the ramifications of sending them home versus keeping them out of time? So...many...questions...
