10 Strongest Female Doctor Who Characters

3. Ace

Following on from the example set by Leela, Ace is one of the female Doctor Who companions who comes closest to being an action hero. She has the foolhardy bravery to singlehandedly take on a Dalek with a baseball bat, the skills to destroy one with a rocket launcher, and manages to bring down quite a few Cybermen with nothing but a slingshot and some gold coins Even though she might come off as a trigger happy anarchist (and she is a fair bit of the time), her personality runs so much deeper than that. At first she is (as the Doctor horribly overstates when trying to break her faith in him) an emotional cripple. But despite starting her journey as a loner with very little direction and a suffering a number of childhood traumas including the racially motivated murder of one her friends, she goes through some of the biggest character development in Doctor Who short of Donna Noble. She faces up to her many personal demons as time goes on and goes through a huge emotional journey. She is also astute and confident enough to berate the Doctor for his more manipulative tendencies. Particularly when it extends to him subtly making her face up to events from her past like her burning down the local mansion, Gabriel Chase.
