2. Rick Sacrifices Himself
Rick's exit from the show left a bad taste in viewers mouths for a number of reasons, but even the reasoning behind his fake death is stupid.
Of all the ways to have him leave, the writers decided that he should sacrifice himself and somehow survive a huge fireball with nothing but a few scratches and bruises. The thing is, he didn't even have to sacrifice himself.
Yes, the bridge was being used by a horde of walkers that would definitely cause problems for all the communities. But we saw in season six that if a group can coordinate well enough, they can take on a horde quite efficiently.
This time round there may have been more walkers, but you also had several communities at your disposal that could've easily coordinated to figure things out.
Obviously Rick was in a pretty poor state and already hallucinating, but almost everyone had arrived and was ready to help Rick out. So his decision to shoot the conveniently placed TNT to destroy the bridge has to be one of the stupidest decisions Rick ever made on the show.
