10 Surprising Twist Endings (In TV Shows You Wouldn’t Expect)

This sensory overload of a children's show spent over a decade answering the question: What would happen if a ten-year-old had two fairy guardians who granted his every wish? While the ten-year-old in question, Timmy, had plenty of fun... it's not always an easy ride.

In season six's Odd Pirates: Timmy accidentally makes a wish that unleashes a crew of pirates onto his town and they proceed to pillage it. The pirates are led by the evil Dirtbeard who communicates in unintelligible yelling and so his parrot acts as his translator. Except, the parrot turns out to be the evil one! The parrot was purposefully misinterpreting Dirtbeard’s noises and ordering the pillaging for its own evil ends.

Why it's surprising: This was a show that followed the same basic formula in every episode: Timmy makes a wish, it's granted, Timmy regrets making it and must fix whatever disaster it's caused. Therefore, including a creative twist ending like this was a welcome surprise. Furthermore, the pirate/parrot trope is one of the oldest in fiction and it took a Nickelodeon show to flip that concept on its head. Who would've thought?!

It just proves that you should never judge an episode of any show until the end credits. And never judge a pirate without listening to them first.
