10 Terrible Episodes That Almost Ruined Great TV Shows

6. South Park: A Million Little Fibers

The Simpsons Worst Episode Ever
Comedy Central

South Park is a series that, at times, is some of the most brilliant comedy on television - animated or otherwise. The show is able to comment on topical issues in a truly genius way, and episodes like one focusing on Scientology are simply television classics.

But then there are episodes like A Million Little Fibers. From the show's tenth season, this episode focuses entirely on Towelie, without the presence of any of the South Park kids. Because focusing a whole episode on a side character is usually a great idea.

The episode is about Towelie getting really high and coming up with an idea for a book, which he writes and gets famous from. He goes on Oprah, and then a bunch of weird stuff happens that culminates in Oprah's vagina pulling out a gun and taking hostages. Yep.

It sounds kind of funny in an absurdist way when we think about the fact that Parker and Stone actually aired this insanity on television, but actually watching the episode, it just isn't very enjoyable. It's way too out there without any sort of grounding that we usually get with the South Park kids, and the whole thing just becomes annoying to watch.

Listening to the DVD commentary, it sounds like Parker and Stone themselves aren't even that fond of this episode, and watching it now, it's pretty clear why.
