Let's face it, everybody will be so starved of walker action by the time the show comes around, fans will be craving to see FTWD. There could be millions tuning in on the back of its mighty parent show, so it's hugely important that the FTWD holds them there. They've been given the perfect head start, but the only way to keep viewers intrigued will be a vicious twist, a spin on the Walking Dead conventions, an immediate death, basically just something different from the show fans have come to know and love. It's unclear as to how far the pilot will go, but if there's action from the word go, killing off one of the initially leading characters would remind everybody that nobody is safe. FTWD really is in the perfect position, keeping the same world as The Walking Dead, the same rapturous audience and all with the beauty of a brand new cast of characters. There's no comparisons, no prejudice, no opinions yet. They're yet to be formed, meaning that literally anybody could die, or anything could happen in the pilot. Just look at Morgan from The Walking Dead pilot. He looked like a focal point, but disappeared immediately after.
