10 Things Superman & Lois Has To Get Right

9. An Open World

The problem with Superman TV shows that came before was that they were the ones setting up a universe. That meant there wasn’t much going on outside Metropolis and the Daily Planet, with storylines either taking place on an alien planet or two locations.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that - The Adventures of Lois and Clark told some great stories that didn’t feature the settings of Central, Coast or Opal City.

However, Superman and Lois has the luxury of exploring an open world that already exists. A world that includes places we’ve been to a hundred times, places throughout time and space that are in the Arrowverse but the audience would feel at home when they visit.

Considering the DC shows all shoot in the same area of Vancouver, there’s no trouble for Elizabeth Tulloch to stumble onto the set of The Flash in order to interview S.T.A.R Labs about something in Central City.

The odd inclusion of a Justice League member could build to some really good crossovers, as both Lois and Clark build their friendships with each leaguer, widening the circle of the Superfamily and giving the show the ability to let it’s Clark Kent be the new father figure of the Arrowverse.
