9. People Keep Commenting On Your Date's Doctor Who-Themed Clothes

At first, the Whovian is probably going to keep a lid on how much of a fan he or she is, because they want to make a good impression. Doctor Who has a history of being a turn-off for a large percentage of humanity. Which is completely unreasonable, clearly. So, for those first few dates, the Whovian will project a carefully contrived façade of normality. But after a while, certain subtle clues to the fan's hobby may begin to be dropped. The clothes, for starters. Fans like to wear their fandoms on their t-shirts. The non-fan in the blossoming relationship will probably miss that there's a funny blue wooden box on the shirt of the person sitting next to them in the cinema. Halfway through the date, though, some clued-in passerby is inevitably going to call out something along the lines of "Nice TARDIS shirt!" Brace yourself for the deluge of praise from the oblivious folk around you. To start with, the upbeat comments might even be vicariously pleasant. You get to bask in the reflected glory of your culturally savvy other half and that's nice. But after a while, the compliments are going to grate. Let's face it, you're on a date. You want the attention to be on you, not on your boy/girlfriend's licensed apparel.
