10 Things To Expect From Broadchurch Series 3

1. Hardy's Mental State

Alec Hardy is the closest thing Broadchurch has to a hero, but he's a flawed one. Driven to the brink by the Latimer murder and haunted by the Sandbrook affair, the beleaguered bloke was going to end up in hospital at that rate. And sure enough he did. He left the operating theatre a changed man, but one still possessed by the fire that almost razed his life to the ground. As he said to Miller he woke up angry, and urged her to use her own fury to crack the case. Hardy was reconciled with his wife and family by the closing credits of Series 2. The dog dropped his bone, but that doesn't mean he can't remember where he buried it. There were moments during the resolution of Sandbrook where David Tennant looked nuttier than KP. He also broke down when he thought no-one was there, a release for him but not necessarily a turning point. DI Alec Hardy is never far away from terrible deeds and tortured relationships. Series 3 will be no exception for this complex crime botherer. What would you like to see from Broadchurch Series 3? Were you disappointed with Series 2?
