1. Something Has To Be Done About Army Of Darkness
Speaking of Army of Darkness, something has got to be done about the third film in the Evil Dead series. Here's the deal: the rights to the Evil Dead franchise are a complete mess, with all three films being released through different studios/distributors over the years. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell actually own the rights to Evil Dead and Ash, but Universal owns the rights to Army of Darkness and any material found within. Licensing that material from them would no doubt cost a boatload of money, which is why Ash vs. Evil Dead never references Ash's trip through time, despite the film being a beloved part of the franchise. It's why we didn't get to "shop smart, shop S-Mart" but instead meat Ash at the ValuMart to start the series. The producers have stated that the events happened, that they're something Ash went through but that simply isn't talked about - but at the end of season one, the show hit a point where it all needs to be addressed. From a plot perspective, Pablo and Kelly are going to have questions. There was also the little drawing in the Necronomicon that showed Ash and a portal - a sly nod to the sequel. Point is, the fact that the book is capable of transporting folks through time and space needs to be brought up, even if the destination isn't the medieval times of Army of Darkness. Which would work fine, because the book sending Ash hurtling into the past was actually part of Evil Dead 2, which the show does have the rights to. In any case - this whole thread needs to be (delicately) addressed. What did you think of Ash Vs Evil Dead's first season? Let us know in the comments.
