10 Things We Want To See In The New Batman Animated Series

We want new characters explored whilst re-visiting some golden oldies

With the animated series kicking off, the show maintained and carried over a lot of the old familiars we grew to love including the Joker, the Riddler, Catwoman and Jim Gordon. However, feeling free and re-vitalised to express themselves, writers were able to explore and add a flurry of new characters to the Batman universe.

Some are more memorable than others (granted) however the introduction to these unknown foes provided a new twist for audiences who, like Batman, were meeting these new enemies for the first time. Unaware of any weaknesses or proven strategy for success, it was a bold new territory to uncover.

So we have villains such as Red Claw, Baby Doll, the very poetically satisfying sidekick, Grey Ghost. But more importantly in September 1992, Paul Dini and Bruce Timm introduced to the world a new comic relief henchwoman for the Joker, Harley Quinn.

It would take seven years after her TV debut for Harley Quinn to officially become part of the DC Comics Universe but look at her go! - With a web of her own comic adventures on the page and the big screen with The Suicide Squad (2021). It's not hard to see why this female character has such a global appeal and it’s hard to see it slowing down anytime soon. But I'd personally love to see what they can introduce to this new re-telling of the mythology.

So here's keeping our fingers crossed for a few new surprise characters
