8. Malory Archer And Ron Cadillac Are Married
Ron Cadillac is first introduced as Malory's husband in Fugue and Riffs, the season four opener. You know, the one in which Archer is also married... to Linda Belcher from Bob's Burgers. Talk about an ambitious crossover!
But in real life, Jessica Walter (who plays Malory) and Ron Leibman (who plays Cadillac) were married from 1983 up until Leibman's death in 2019. They first met in 1982, in the house of Brenda Vaccaro who, incidentally, played Joey's mother on Friends. Hollywood is a small world, isn't it?
They said "I do" a year later and started their long life together, having no children. Professionally, they rarely crossed paths, having only been in three productions together before Archer. The first one was a play named Rumors, followed by the movie Dummy, and finally, an episode of Law & Order.
Another interesting fact is that Ron Cadillac was actually based on another character played by Leibman. He played a car thief-turned-criminal lawyer called Martin Kazinski. In the Archer universe, Kazinski was Ron's surname before he changed it to Cadillac.
