6. He Was Eyed Up By Ryan Gosling
No, not like that! Matt got tongues wagging - and in more ways than one - when he was hand picked to star in Ryan Gosling's highly publicised directorial debut. Ryan later revealed that he chose Matt after being shown his now iconic 'Stonehenge speech' (in the Doctor Who Series 5 The Pandorica Opens) so Doctor Who is not only the greatest job in the world, but it also seemingly guarantees future employment, too. Hell, it's worked wonders for David Tennant. Originally entitled How to a Catch Monster (which, in theory, should've been right up Matt's street!), the recently deceased Time Lord was cast in the indie film's ominous role of Bully which doesn't tell us all that much about him, really, other than the fact that he's probably not the sort of person you'd want to hang out with. Apparently, it's not the sort of film you'd want to watch, either. The movie, after being renamed to Lost River to make it sound more appealing, was critically panned upon its premiere at last year's Cannes Festival, so much so that no company came forward to invest in its cinematic distribution. It's getting a limited theatrical release this spring, though, so get ready to look at Matt's muscles. No... He wants you to. It's all he goes on about in the trailer.
