10 Things You Learn Rewatching Gilmore Girls

We've seen characters come and go throughout the Gilmore Girls series and often, the writers like to make references to what the actual actor who played them did next, amid their absence on the show.

For example, Adam Brody who played Lane's boyfriend Dave, left after his first season on the show in order to play Seth in The O.C., which takes place in California.

To explain his departure, Lane claims he went to university in California. Similarly, when Chad Michael Murray (Rory's Chilton classmate, Tristan Dugray) left the show, his exit was explained by the character being sent to military school in North Carolina. That same location is where Chad filmed for roles in Dawson's Creek and later One Tree Hill.

And once more, when the character Brad Langford, played by Adam Wylie, returns to Chilton Academy after several months away from the series, he explains that he was away playing Jack in the Broadway musical Into the Woods. The irony is Wylie quite literally was playing Jack in the revived musical of Into the Woods, during his absence from the show.
