10 Truly Terrible Movies From The Game Of Thrones Cast
1. Pixels - Peter Dinklage
Rotten Tomatoes score: 17%
As anybody who's played Destiny will know, the pairing of video games and Game Of Thrones' most popular star is hardly a match made in heaven. Even so, this movie represents an extra special low point.
Dinklage's obvious talent probably meant that even before Game Of Thrones he was an actor of sufficient note to walk into a supporting role in an ultra-dumb Adam Sandler comedy, so technically this movie perhaps doesn't belong on this list. But, equally, Dinklage's ever increasing stardom should mean that he can be more selective with scripts and not have to tie himself to dreck like this, a film which tried to use the presence of an actor that people outside Sandler's typical fanbase actually like as a way of suggesting the movie might be a cut above its star's usual fare.
Actually, in spite of a genuinely fun premise (albeit one that had just about enough material to support the five minute Futurama segment in which it previously appeared), Pixels is just about the most egregious example of Sandler's lazy, lowest common denominator, bro-centric vein of humour.
Nothing that Dinklage could do could lift this material from its barrel-scraping level, but, hey, at least he didn't pick up a Razzie nod (unlike all four of his co-stars, who did).
They Said: "For a movie that's supposedly about delivering weightless, uncomplicated fun, "Pixels" is an overwhelmingly sad experience." (Salon.com)
