7. Daario Naharis - Game Of Thrones

There have been a tremendous amount of characters and plotlines that were suddenly dropped from Game of Thrones. That's partly down to condensing such dense material for TV, and then running out of dense material and the show's writers not having any idea where the characters they'd previously adapted were supposed to end up.

None of that really explains why Daario Naharis was so unceremoniously dropped after having such an important role in Daenerys' story though. His relationship with Dany was the focal point of her story across seasons three to six, and he was last seen after his love interest finally sailed to Westeros, leaving him in charge of Meereen and the armies she'd liberated up until that point.

That could have been a natural end, but the issue is that Daario's absence lingered over the show long after that. Dany was going to war in the following seasons, and it never occurred to her to call in reinforcements that were waiting over the sea? Not when the Night King raised an army of the dead, and not when she made the final push for the Iron Throne? And he didn't have anything to say about the woman he loved being murdered?

Once Dany jumped into bed with Jon Snow, this former flame might as well have not existed.
