10 TV Characters Ron Swanson Would Love

9. Louis Huang - Fresh Off The Boat

Parks And Recreation Ron Swanson
ABC

Another popular ABC sitcom, Fresh off the Boat recently came to an end in February 2020 after six seasons. It is quite loosely based on the life of Chef Eddie Huang, using his autobiography of the same name for inspiration. To be clear, "loosely" is a key word as the series deviates further and further from the source material as it goes on.

Set in the the late 1990s, the series depicts the Huangs, a Taiwanese-American family, as they move from Chinatown in Washington, D.C. to Orlando, Florida. The patriarch of the family, Louis, moves them across the country so he can run his new restaurant, the Western steakhouse themed Cattleman's Ranch.

Ron and Louis would get along well, due in no small part to the fact that Louis owns and operates a steakhouse. Ron does love steak. More than that, Ron loves people with an entrepreneurial spirit and Louis has that in spades. They would bond over their love of the free market and well cooked meat.
