Whenever a TV show is revived, there will always be questions about which of the cast will be returning. Look at Frasier, as Kelsey Grammer's titular character was joined by only Peri Gilpin's Roz Doyle in Boston. On the other end of that scale, though, there is Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

The incredibly popular Gilmore Girls was brought back to Netflix in 2016, nine years after it initially ended, following a year of Rory and Lorelai's lives. Just about everyone else from Stars Hollow made an appearance, even Jess (Milo Ventimiglia).

However, one that audiences were unsure of was Melissa McCarthy. The actor played Sookie St. James for seven years in Gilmore Girls, but has developed into a huge movie star in the years since. As the series drew toward the end with no sign of the character, it seemed clear that McCarthy had turned down the revival, likely thanks to a busy schedule of bigger things.

Then, just when it was least expected, right at the end of the fourth and final episode, there she was in all her glory. Sookie was a major character in her own right, and Lorelai's best friend to boot, so many may have initially expected her to show her face, but after being absent for most of the reunion, it was a nice surprise when she did.
