10 TV Characters You NEVER Thought Would Return
1. Malcolm Wilkerson - Malcolm In The Middle
Running from 2000-2006, Malcolm in the Middle became an iconic coming-of-age show. Based around the titular kid and his dysfunctional family, with some fourth-wall-breaking thrown in to boot, the show was not only iconic, but influential in the sitcom world.
Since the show's ending, the cast has gone in very different directions. While Bryan Cranston has gone on to be a huge star, the boys who played his sons have all moved away from the acting world. Malcolm himself, Frankie Muniz, has been putting his talents to music and race car driving in recent years, so it's fair to say that a Malcolm in the Middle reboot wouldn't have been on many people's bingo card in 2025.
And yet, announced in late 2024, the show will be returning for a four-episode run on Disney+. The only real details, outside of the return of Cranston, Muniz, and Jane Kaczmarek, is that Malcolm and his daughter will be forced to attend his parents' 40th wedding anniversary.
Though it's only a four-episode stint, this revival will hopefully serve as a wonderful hit of nostalgia, as fun as it was unexpected.
