Since its 1989 debut, The Simpsons has aired thirty-three season and over 700 episodes, and it's been renewed for a thirty-fourth instalment.

The brainchild of writer Matt Groening, the series follows the eponymous family and the various residents of their hometown Springfield. Main focus falls on family patriarch Homer Simpson, his rebel son Bart, put-upon wife Marge, brainiac daughter Lisa, and baby Maggie.

Throughout its run, The Simpsons has thrived off mocking and critiquing modern society, from its various trends, technological advances, messy politics and family life. It's done so much so well that it's difficult to really comprehend how much it's achieved.

Though for many it's past its prime at this point, the fact that it shows no signs of slowing down after over three decades of creativity is simply incredible. If any show can possibly run forever, it would have to be The Simpsons.
