10 TV Performances Way Better Than Anyone Expected

Stranger Things is a show with a lot of heart and nostalgia. The kids carry the burden of those themes throughout as most of the show's important plots centre around them. This meant that the casting choices were not decisions taken lightly. Luckily they hit the nail on the head with every choice.

Though still in the middle of their school education, the group of teenage actors show a wisdom beyond their years when it comes to their portrayals of the kids. Believably brave and emotional yet utterly childish at the same time is a hard combination to pull off, yet they do it authentically throughout.

All are fantastic but Millie Bobby Brown may be the brightest of all. Playing Eleven, the socially naive wild child, with both a bubbling intense anger and a gentle kindness brings the character to life far more than a script would.
