10 TV Show Spin-Offs That Are Practically Flawless

1. The Simpsons

The Simpsons has been on air for so long, and emerged as such a vital part of pop culture and the everyday, that it's easy to forget it started life as a series of shorts on the also-brilliant Tracy Ullman Show in the mid-to- late 80s.

For its first ten or so years in particular, The Simpsons cemented itself time and time again as the most inventive and funny shows ever made, exploring the surreal, sometimes violent, always touching adventures of its dysfunctional title family with seamless genre-blending, social satire, and its own uniquely witty humour.

Unrivalled in its quotability and iconography, the comedy lost much of its edge as it stumbled into the 2000s, but its decline in quality is ultimately irrelevant to its impact on pop culture and the animated comedies to follow its inception. If any show could run forever, it'll be The Simpsons.
