The Walking Dead is based on a series of comics which follows the lives of several individuals and the lengths at which they have to go to, to survive a zombie outbreak. It's an adventurous, graphic drama which portrays the riskiness of human survival instincts and shows what decisions humankind would be forced to make when trying to protect themselves and people they love. The Walking Dead's action scenes are one of its defining features and its lack of artificiality is what makes it seem so realistic, despite being a show about zombies, of course! The characters are extremely relatable and, much like Orange is the New Black, each episode ends on a huge cliffhanger which means you will have accidentally marathon-ed an entire series in a day. The show will surprise you with sudden character-deaths and story-lines that you didn't see coming. Andrew Lincoln plays the lead character Rick Grimes, who is prepared to go to extreme lengths to ensure his family and friends stay alive and, while his actions at times seem unjustified, his intentions are never malicious.
