10 TV Shows You Didn't Know Had Episodes Without Their Main Character

7. The Incredible Hulk

110Main Character Missing: David Banner (But Not The Hulk) (1 Episode). Which Episode?: "Proof Positive" (Season 3, Episode 13). Is It Still Good?: Yes. Can you believe there was an episode of The Incredible Hulk without the wonderful Bill Bixby at the helm? Well there was. This particular episode focusses on Jack McGee (played expertly by Jack Colvin, who really makes the part his own here), and his attempts to hunt down The Hulk, since he has always believed that it was "this...green...HULKing creature" who killed his friend David Banner and Elaina Marks. Now, of course, David Banner is actually The Hulk and neither are responsible for Elaina Marks' death, but the impracticality of the situation leads McGee on a downwards path to find out about and seek vengeance on The Hulk. In this particular episode, his editor has disallowed him from continuing to write stories about The Hulk in his paper, so he takes the matter into his own hands. While Lou Ferrigno's Hulk is actually seen in the episode, Bill Bixby is either used in archival footage or portrayed by a body double. Maybe it's my bias towards Mr. McGee, but this is a great and interesting episode. Anything that gives us insight into this man is worthy of a viewing from me. Check it out!
