10 TV Shows That Almost Had Much Better Endings

1. Carrie Chooses Friendship Over Men - Sex And The City

Walt Breaking Bad
HBO

The Ending: After teasing their relationship across the entire span of the show, Mr. Big finally pursues Carrie Bradshaw all the way to Paris and asks her to marry him. Charlotte is given the go ahead to adopt a Chinese baby.

The Alternative Ending: The ending of the show that was ultimately used was a pretty predictable one, and fans of Sex and the City either loved it or hated it depending on how they felt about Mr. Big; he wasn't always the best guy around, after all.

When that ending was shot, though, the showrunners filmed some alternative endings, too, one of which would have had Carrie marrying the Russian, whilst another... well, it would have had Carrie sacking off men completely and reaffirming her love for her friends. At which point, Samantha says: "Men. F*ck 'em... f*ck all of them."

Given that the entire premise on the show hinged on Carrie's attempts to find and connect with a man, wouldn't that anti-man ending have been a great note to end things on? With Carrie just saying: "Screw it... friendship is more important than guys"? It certainly would have been a lot funnier, and kind of fitting in a weird, unexpected way.
