The cancellation of The Society is arguably the most shocking on this list and it has absolutely nothing to do with the response to the show. That's not to take away from the quality of the program - because it was pretty enticing - or the impressive fan response it garnered, it's just down to the simple fact that it had already been renewed for a second season.

The series had been renewed last summer, less than two months after it debuted on Netflix. A testament to how popular and well-received the teen thriller was, you can rest assured that fans were looking forward to seeing where the mysterious saga of the missing adults went next.

But alas, the streaming service reversed the renewal because of everything going on right now and, because of that, it's unlikely that they'll change their mind.
