10 TV Shows That REALLY Shouldn't Have Worked
3. The Eric Andre Show
Imagine a show that combined The Tonight Show, David Lynch and Andy Kaufmann. Now make that show look like it’s on public access television and force feed it psychedelic drugs. Et Voilà! you have The Eric Andre Show.
Created at a time when Eric Andre had no money and was working intermittently in adverts and doing stand-up, the show takes the talk show format and then plunges it into a world of surrealism and insanity. With Hannibal Burress as the co-host, the show is irrepressibly dark, twisted and yet somehow hilarious, with the show inexplicably veering off course at any given moment. No synopsis could do this show credit.
The Eric Andre Show has increasingly managed to book respectable well-known names such as Jack Black, Seth Rogen and Jimmy Kimmel. In a strange twist of fate, the talk show that isn’t really a talk show has managed to land stellar names that actual talk shows could only dream of.
Whilst it's often unclear what The Eric Andre Show actually is, it has certainly defied expectations.
