3. Rick And Morty & Futurama
For much of the animated world, the influence of The Simpsons is easy to see. A wide majority of shows feature dysfunctional families like the one found on Evergreen Terrace, but Rick and Morty seemingly went one step further. There's the crazy family, but with the sci-fi element, it almost feels like a mix between both The Simpsons and Futurama.
The comparison is clear, and in the classic 'Vat of Acid' episode, Rick even references Futurama, in particular 'Meanwhile', the outstanding episode that sees Fry and Leela (Billy West and Katey Sagal) live their lives while the whole world around them stands still.
So, it's been established that Futurama as a show exists within the Rick and Morty universe, but then consider the season 26 Simpsons couch gag in which Rick and Morty crushed and had to rebuild the titular family. In the background of their little adventure can be seen numerous references to the world of Futurama.
The Planet Express ship is there, as well as a Slurm machine and a brain slug feasting on someone's brain. Literally anything is possible in Rick and Morty, and so for Futurama to be a TV show and a real place in the universe is just weird enough to work.
