The elevator pitch for Barry seems too ridiculous to work. Barry is a hitman, yet he is no longer happy in his occupation. Through unforeseen circumstances, he moves to Los Angeles and falls in love with theater arts. Written and directed by Bill Hader and Alec Berg of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm fame, this show is black comedy at its most hilarious.
The beauty of this show, similar to Fargo, is its ability to balance comedy and drama. Some of the scenes are laugh out loud, split your sides hilarious. Things can quickly take a turn though, putting you on the edge of your seat, and hoping that everything turns out okay. While it is only two seasons in, a third is quickly approaching, and Barry is shaping up to be something special.
