10 Underrated TV Shows You Need To Start Watching

7. Shrinking

Copenhagen Cowboy
Apple TV+

If you saw the trailer for Shrinking and assumed that it was another superficially feel-good sitcom in the vein of Ted Lasso, you'd basically be right - in fact, it was co-created by Ted Lasso's own Bill Lawrence.

But its generic, unchallenging sitcom sheen belies the fact that it also boasts one of the finest performances of Harrison Ford's career, and that alone makes it entirely worth watching.

Ford appears in the series as Dr. Paul Rhoades, a therapist afflicted by the early stages of Parkinson's disease, and while Ford absolutely leans into the grumpy persona he's honed on talk shows and press appearances for years, he also peels back the layers to reveal Rhoades' vulnerability and humanity.

Ford hasn't seemed this happy to be doing actual acting in many years, and it's pretty much dead certain that he'll end up nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Emmy as a result - if not win the award outright.

This isn't to discount the solid work being done by Jason Segel, Jessica Williams, and the rest of the ensemble cast, but Ford is the anchor holding everything firm in even the series' schmaltziest, most sentimental moments.
