2. The Lord Of The Rings

It's over four years since Amazon first announced it'd purchased the rights for a Lord of the Rings TV series - confirming in November 2017 that said rights had been picked up for a cool $250 million - and that show is now finally on the relatively-immediate horizon.

Due to air on Prime Video this September and simply known as The Lord of the Rings, this series is already committed to a five-season run worth a further $1 billion; making it the most expensive show in the history of TV.

Plot specifics are still pretty loose at this point in time, although we do know that The Lord of the Rings will take place in the Second Age of Middle-Earth. That means the action will be set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and the standard LOTR trilogy.

With evil resurfacing across Middle-Earth, the cast of this series features Robert Aramayo - who played the younger Ned Stark in Game of Thrones - leading the charge, with unknown roles for the likes of Markella Kavenagh, Benjamin Walker, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Peter Mullan, Lenny Henry and Trystan Gravelle. Arguably most interesting, Saint Maud's phenomenal Morfydd Clark will be playing Galadriel.

Expect to see a first proper trailer at some point across the coming months - and expect the internet to react with an outpouring of love/hate for it.
