10 Upcoming TV Shows That Won't Be An Easy Watch
6. All The Walking Dead Spin-Offs
Even the most hardcore fan of The Walking Dead will surely admit that the series is getting pretty damn long in the tooth at this point. And though the mainline show is mere weeks away from airing its final episode, that's far from the end of the story.
In addition to the several spin-off projects already on the air, AMC has confirmed a number of new shows centered around some of the main series' most prominent characters.
The Walking Dead: Dead City will focus on Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan), while the imaginatively-titled Daryl Dixon will revolve around Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride), and there's also an untitled show starring Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) in the works.
Beyond the fact that most of these spin-offs will drain the mainline series' remaining episodes of much of their tension - knowing full well who will certainly survive - The Walking Dead has been a slog for a long time, and as many fans have joked over the years, effectively become an unkillable zombie itself.
These shows could be pleasantly surprising, but it's tough to get excited about spin-offs that appear to be more about brand management than telling a worthwhile story. Keep your expectations low.
All three new Walking Dead spin-offs are set to premiere in 2023.
