10 Ways Breaking Bad Was Almost Completely Different

3. Dean Norris Wanted Out

There are only a couple of characters eligible for consideration as the most important Breaking Bad cast member after Walt and Jesse, and Hank Schrader is unquestionably one of them. Initially boorish and paper-thin, Hank evolved into one of the show€™s most complex and sympathetic characters, and a lot of that came from Dean Norris€™s deceptively nuanced performance. From the very first episode, Hank and Walt were set on a collision course that would reach a pulse-pounding conclusion in the wrenching Ozymandias €“ an episode that still carries the remarkable distinction of scoring a perfect 10 on IMDB. However, if Dean Norris had gotten his way, this unforgettable encounter would never have come to pass. Well aware that there were only so many more times he would slip on that DEA jacket and mindful of what was to come in his career, Norris accepted the offer of a comedy pilot before he knew that Season 5 of Breaking Bad would come in two instalments, commenting: €œI called Vince and I said, 'Hey man, maybe Hank should die in the first eight. Wouldn€™t that be a great ending?'€ Much as it would have been an interesting subversion of expectations, had Gilligan acquiesced to the actor€™s request, the final eight episodes would have been considerably altered and, in all likelihood, much less involving without Hank closing in on his villainous brother-in-law.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
