10 WHAT IF…? Comics Marvel Needs To Adapt For Season 2
5. What If... Wolverine Had Killed The Hulk?
Though it's not currently known when it will happen, the X-Men will be featuring the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. How and when they are introduced will be incredibly important to their integration into the wider franchise, but what if one character in particular appeared in animation before live action?
Wolverine's introduction to Marvel Comics saw him battle first with a creature called Wendigo, and then the Incredible Hulk. In this What If story from 1982, Wolverine killed Banner by slashing at his throat with his claws until the beast simply couldn't stand any more.
Part of the comic arc is presented as the superhero and mutant communities trying to figure out who could do such a thing. This could be an interesting take for the MCU to run with, should the decision be made to keep the murderer a secret until the Wolverine reveal at the very end, much like Hank Pym in episode three of season one, though this would require a tweak to the title.
This of course wouldn't be a full introduction to the franchise for Logan, but it would confirm that he is out there somewhere, and that he is capable of killing the Hulk. This would hype the upcoming mutant based projects like nothing else.
