10 Worst Family Guy Episodes

You'd think Family Guy would learn that poking fun at trans people doesn't go well for them, but that lesson seems to be lost on them.

This episode is another example of how the show struggles to find the balance between embracing people and mocking them. It seems desperate to try and normalize Ida (Quagmire's trans father), yet again, fails to make any decent humour outside of mocking.

In "Bri-Da", Joe, Peter, Quagmire, and Cleveland wear bodycams so they can remember their money-making schemes when they get drunk. This leads to a sex tape of Quagmire getting leaked, causing Ida to be embarrassed. She soon runs into Brian at a bar, and they start their relationship again, although Brian is ashamed to be seen in public with her.

It goes without saying that there are many mean-spirited and unsubtle trans jokes. But, the biggest issue in this one comes from the dull narrative. Viewers had already seen Brian and Ida fail romantically, so seeing it again wasn't on anyone's wish list. Plus, there's a distinct lack of creativity, as the secret girlfriend narrative is well past its sell-by date in comedy.
