10 Worst Family Guy Episodes

One of the most frustrating things about a bad episode is when the core concept is intriguing. That's what you get here, as the idea of the Griffins in a commentary booth looking back on their past is amusing and creative, but it's ruined by the overreliance on a weak conflict between Lois and Peter.

In "You Can't Handle The Booth", Peter and the family gather together to narrate the fictional episode "New Phone, Who Dis?". However, the recording session falls into disarray after Lois finds out that Peter gets paid more than her and used to be married to Sarah Paulson, sparking a massive argument.

The fallout between Lois and Peter is entirely artificial and not convincing at all. It's hard to believe that this stuff would come out of nowhere after so many years of marriage, especially the reveal that Chris isn't even Peter's son.

Besides the lacklustre conflict, the episode also becomes a confusing mess towards the end as the fourth wall is torn down and the actors themselves comment over their characters. It's an exciting concept but lacks the depth needed to make such a joke work. After all, this is Family Guy, Not Rick & Morty.
