10 Worst Guest Stars In Doctor Who History

5. Paul Darrow

When you're been a big fish in a little pond you still think you're a big fish when you visit someone else's. In 1985, Blake's 7 star Paul Darrow was enticed to star in Doctor Who. This had been a tradition anyway, the shows both using the same actors, same props and same costumes and Sixth Doctor Colin Baker had even starred in an episode (giving a performance that puts lie to the claim that the producers of Who didn't know what they were getting). Darrow, therefore, obviously believes he is the star of Timelash. In the role of the serial's villain Malin Tekker, he made the decision - despite the director not liking it - of playing the part in the style of Richard III. Suffice to say, Darrow is no Olivier. In the right frame of mind this can be fun but the novelty soon wears off. He does deliver some lines with real relish, though, and seems to like the look of Peri Brown, as did most of the obviously sex starved males of the various species she met on her travels. Only Sil never seemed interested, but then he didn't have any sex organs. Trying to scheme his way to ultimate power, Tekker eventually comes a cropper of half man, half worm nutter the Borad and is zapped by his aging ray. It's with much relief when Tekker's skeleton hits the floor.
