11 Awesome Netflix TV Shows (That Aren't Available In The UK)

6. Fraiser

All eleven seasons of Fraiser are avialble to steam on Netflix US, but there is no sign of the Cheers spin-off as you scroll through your TV section in the UK. The long-running, well-loved sitcom continues the story of psychiatrist Frasier Crane as he returns to his hometown of Seattle and gets to work building a new life. Star Kelsey Grammer made a deal with former Cheers producers David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Lee to continue working together once Cheers reached a natural end, and when it was confirmed during the tenth season that the next would be the last, the team began brain storming ideas for a new show, and what they came up with differs from the Fraiser we know and love quite a drastically. Grammer originally insisted that he did not want to continue playing Frasier Crane, and furthermore did not want the new show to resemble Cheers in any way. His team proposed that Grammer play a wealthy paraplegic publisher who operated his business from his apartment, with a Hispanic live-in nurse who would comically clash with the main character. While Grammer liked the concept, Paramount didn€™t, and in the end demanded the return of Fraiser. Grammer eventually conceded that reappearing as Fraiser was the right way to go, but the producers purposefully set the new show as far from Boston as possible to prevent NBC from asking them to write in guest appearances by Cheers characters.

Phil still hasn't got round to writing a profile yet, as he has an unhealthy amount of box sets on the go.
