11 Awesome Netflix TV Shows (That Aren't Available In The UK)

7. An Idiot Abroad

You would think that this hilarious insight into the modern British man would be available on British Netflix, but sadly that isn€™t the case. US viewers on the other hand can sign in and watch as much of Karl Pilkington€™s idiotic travels as they please, while the Brits are fed Pilkington crumbs via Ricky Gervais€™ Derek. Gervais, who created and features in the show alongside long-time collaborator Stephen Merchant, had always found Pilkington€™s general lack of enthusiasm hilarious and the pair decided that sending him abroad to get the travel experience that many people long for and watching him hate it would be pretty damn funny €“ and they weren€™t wrong. This travel documentary come road-trip comedy has received widespread acclaim in the United States, with critics praising it€™s infectiously funny situation comedy. The Hollywood Reporter claimed that the show is €œridiculously funny, and even when it€™s clear that Gervais and Merchant €“ pulling the strings back home in England and communicating with Pilkington via cell phone €“ are having a cruel laugh, it€™s nearly impossible not to fall apart laughing at poor Pilkington€™s fate.€ An Idiot Abroad was well received at home in the England also, with the introduction of Warwick Davies in the third season going down well with viewers and critics alike, but UK Netflix users are yet to be treated to any of show's three seasons.

Phil still hasn't got round to writing a profile yet, as he has an unhealthy amount of box sets on the go.
